THE CONSTITUTION OF THE KUKI STUDENTS’ ORGANISATION, BANGALORE

PREAMBLE
We, the Kuki Students of Bangalore solemnly resolve ourselves into a union:
 To work for and foster unity, integrity and welfare of the Kukis;
To value and promote cultural, custom and traditional heritages of the Kukis
To inculcate civic consciousness and encourage an exemplary life in the society;
In our general meeting, on this Twenty-second day of August, nineteen hundred ninety eight, we do hereby adopt, enact and give to ourselves this constitution.

ARTICLE I. NAME AND MOTTO
The name of the organization shall be the KUKI STUDENTS’ ORGANISATION, BANGALORE (KSOB)
 The motto of the organization shall be: LEARN, LEAD, LIBERATE.

ARTICLE II. JURISDICTION
  The organization shall cover Bangalore, and satellite towns/villages of Bangalore.

ARTICLE III. PURPOSE
A. To encourage and help one another for academic and vocational excellence.
B. To encourage members and help them to lead God fearing lives and inculcate in one another the spirit of love, peace and unity among the Kukis.
C. To preserve and promote the custom, tradition and cultural heritage of the Kukis.
D. To co-operate with other students’ unions for mutual benefits.

 

 

 

ARTICLE IV. MEMBERSHIP
A. Every Kuki Student in Bangalore from PUC(class XI) onwards shall be a bonafide member of the organization.
B. Every Kuki other than a student, either working or residing in Bangalore shall also be a bona fide member of the organization.
C. Every Kuki in Bangalore other than under section A&B of article IV shall be an Associate member.                                                         
D. Membership in the organization can be obtained on payment of the annual Membership fee. The executive Committee shall fix the amount of Membership fees, as they deem it appropriate.

ARTICLE V. ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
A. There shall be a General Body of all bonafide members of the Organization. The General Body shall form the electorate of the organization.
B. There shall be an Executive Committee, elected by the general body, comprising
of :
(1) President
(2) Vice-President
(3) General Secretary
(4) Joint Secretary
(5) Treasurer
(6) Information Secretary
(7) Assistant Information Secretary
(8) Games and Sports Secretary
(9) Cultural Secretary
However, the number of members and posts in the Executive Committee is flexible to change as and when the need arises.
C.   There shall be an Advisory Board comprising of not less than two senior members.

ARTICLE VI. ELECTION
A. Members of the Executive Committee shall be elected on or before the parting    
    social.
B. The Term of all the Executive Committee members shall be one year. .

ARTICLE VII.POWERS AND FUNCTION OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE :
A. The Executive Committee shall function in the best interest of the organization
     keeping in mind the purpose of the organization.
B. The Executive Committee shall nominate advisors, form sub-committee(s), or
     commission(s) or initiate institution(s) as the need arises.
C. The Executive Committee shall exercise all residual powers including taking
     disciplinary actions on member(s) of the organization in accordance with custom,      
     norms, tradition, convention and beliefs.

ARTICLE VIII.REMOVAL OF EC MEMBERS FROM OFFICE
A. On his/her resignation.
B. On misconduct and a resolution passed by two-third majority of the General Body 
    Meeting members present and voting thereof.

ARTICLE IX. AUDITORS
 The General Body shall elect 2 auditors (for one year term) along with the Executive  Members to audit all accounts of the organization and submit its report to the Executive Committee before the end of the term.

ARTICLE X. AMENDMENT OF THE CONSTITUTION
A. The EC shall notify the amendment proposal (s) to the General Body 14 days prior to the day of discussion in the house(General Body meeting).
B. The amendment of the constitution shall be passed provided two-third of the total members of the organization or three-fourth of the members present and voting thereof, approve to the proposed amendment.
